The Anacortes School District is well respected throughout the region and manages four elementary schools, a middle school and high school. Medical care is excellent with Island Hospital operating a top notch acute care facility in Anacortes.

For nature lovers, Anacortes has 2800 acres of community forest lands. Offering hiking trails, freshwater lakes, horse and biking facilities and beautiful picnic and swimming areas. As one of the premier boating destinations, there are numerous marinas and launch facilities. The Port of Anacortes operates a marina walking distance to downtown, while others are closer to the islands.
Boaters love the water-oriented lifestyle with easy access to some of the most beautiful waterways in the world! Four well-equipped marinas offer both covered and open slips and numerous charter companies operate from these locations.
